Technical Sales Manager - Polymer

We are looking for a committed colleague to take the key role in our European Polymer Additive team covering sales and marketing in within Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). As a Technical Sales Manager in EMEA, you will be business responsible for Polymer additive products like Sidistar® and Sidishield®. A global industrial organization with strong focus on sustainable growth and ambitious targets to contribute to the green transaction is waiting for you.

Most important areas of responsibility:

  • Polymer additive sales, profit and loss accountability for own territory
  • Develop profitable sales in accordance with the strategy and develop your own sales budget
  • Maintain sales at current accounts and develop new customers / applications, into profitable business
  • Active support and management of distributors, for which you’ll have account responsibility
  • Close communication with customer service, supply chain, overseas sales offices in your territory and production plant
  • Support Business manager for developing global budgets, strategy, and new product development
  • Provide market intelligence input for development of new applications, products and markets

Qualifications required for the position:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, in relevant technical education and/ or marketing.
  • Preferably 5 years’ experience in sales to plastics, rubber and/or coating industry
  • Experience in an international environment.
  • Commercial skills: Negotiations, contractual understanding, marketing, risk management, knowledge on delivery terms (Incoterms), payment terms.
  • Technical skills: capacity to understand sufficient technical aspects of the business to discuss with commercial and technical counter parts
  • Fluent written and spoken English as a minimum.

To succeed in the position, you must have high ambitions and be result oriented, combined with good interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate well, have good analytical skills, build trust, and co-operate internally and externally. You have a strong ability to set direction and work closely with your colleagues to develop and reach ambitious targets.

The position reports to Business Unit Manager Polymers. Preferred location is Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy or UK. The position is home office based and requires frequent travelling.
