Join Our Team as Laboratory Manger : Shaping the Future of Battery Technology

Vianode AS is owned by world-leading industrial and financial companies Hydro, and Altor. We aim to become a leading solutions provider to the fast-growing battery industry.

Our advanced anode graphite is a key component in the production of lithium-ion batteries and contributes to increased range for electric vehicles, faster charging, long life, and improved safety.

Our first industrial plant for the production of anode graphite is built in Norway, and the start of production is planned in 2024. The next phase large-scale plant is in the planning stage and aims to be in production in 2026.

Key responsibilities in the role

  • Oversee daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Manage laboratory staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with research teams to prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, and oversee procurement as needed.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance on experimental procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support interdisciplinary research initiatives. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory management or a related role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation relevant to the specific field. Prefered capability in XRD, XRF, Raman
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in laboratory operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and data analysis tools.

Personal Skilles

  • Skilled in analyzing complex data and research findings to ensure the highest quality standards in laboratory operations.
  • Capable of quickly adapting to evolving technology and research priorities to drive innovation in battery technology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to motivate and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Location: This position is based in Kristiansand, with a duration of 12 months and the possibility for extension.

Start date: 1st of June 2024.
