Transport Management System Expert

As our Transport Management System Expert you will be responsible for supporting our new global transport management solution. Elkem is currently implementing a new strategic logistic system worldwide to our plants and sales offices in all our divisions.

This is a new position in Elkem, and you will have a key role in administrate our new global transport management system in the daily operations. The platform will evolve alongside the global implementation, and you will have a key role securing efficient use of our digital solutions. Digitalization is an essential part of our strategy for further growth and development, and you will make a real impact in our digital transformation.

Most important areas of responsibility:

  • Ensure good and satisfactory end user support (1st Line) and secure stable operations
  • Support effective hand-over from project to operations to secure good user satisfaction
  • Simple configuration and adjustments of the solution (2nd Line)
  • Collaborate with software vendor(s) and external implementation partners
  • Develop and create user documentation and training material according to best practice procedures
  • Contribute to automate and digitize the business area of logistics globally

Qualifications required for the position:

To be successful and enjoy this role we believe you prefer a structured and transparent way of working, and can either have a relevant bachelor or master’s degree in information systems, logistics or business economics.

Personal qualifications for the position:

We are looking for you who are enthusiastic for new technology and systems, and quickly can understand and get involved in problem solving. You enjoy helping your colleagues utilizing the potential in the system to improve their daily work. You are being the enabler finding the advantages with optimal use of our tools.
It is important that you are service minded and have good communication skills in English, enables you to collaborate with colleagues across our global organization. It is also an advantage with second language, preferably Norwegian or French.
You are curious about new possibilities and find solutions. Having experience as system administrator or are familiar with ERP systems within logistic processes will be seen as an advantage.

The position reports to IT Manager in Elkem IT Digital Applications.
